The Civil Division contains Circuit civil and County civil actions.

Circuit Civil

Circuit Civil cases are actions where damages sought exceed $30,000. Circuit Civil case types may include the following:

  • Auto negligence
  • Breach of contract
  • Discrimination
  • Eminent domain
  • Insurance claims
  • Libel/slander
  • Medical malpractice
  • Other malpractice actions
  • Other negligence actions

County Civil

County Civil cases are actions where damages sought are more than $8,000, but do not exceed $30,000, excluding costs, interest, and attorney fees. County Civil case types may include the following:

  • Breach of contract
  • Foreclosure on lien
  • Monies due
  • Towing liens
  • Unlawful detainer
